The actress and her brother, Showik Chakraborty were spotted early Monday morning arriving at the DRDO guest house in Santacruz, Mumbai. The siblings, who were accused of abetting Rajput’s suicide, were reportedly questioned for around nine hours on Sunday, it was reported. “Rhea and her brother left the guest house around 7 pm,” the official said, adding that the central agency has questioned the actress for around 26 hours in three days.
While this is Rhea’s fourth round of questioning, Showik is being questioned for the fifth time by the CBI.
Rhea had been questioned for nearly 10 hours on Friday and allowed to return home under police escort as a large number of media personnel were present outside her residence. She was quizzed for around seven hours on Saturday as well.
According to reports doing the rounds, Rhea is likely to be cross-examined along with Sushant’s sister Mitu Singh. Although unconfirmed, reports claim that the CBI will use this tactic face-to-face questioning to possibly verify facts.
If there is any truth to these claims, then this will also be the first time that Rhea will be facing a member of Rajput’s family since the events of his demise on June 14.
As far as the investigations are concerned, the CBI also questioned Rajput’s flatmate Siddharth Pithani, cook Neeraj Singh and accountant Rajat Mewati at the guest house. Samuel Miranda was also called in to record his statement. The central agency has reportedly recorded the statements of over 16 people in connection with the case.
